Be Careful What You Wish for

Remember when I said that at the beginning of a long run I often think, if only I could break my ankle and not have to do this?

CO

Oops!

I tripped while running this morning, cut open my chin (it looks like 6 sts), and broke the bone along the pinky side of my hand. Since Kevin was there, I went to the doctor, rather than telling myself it probably wasn't that bad, and that going to the doctor would be overreacting.

I did knit a little while I waited, but it kinda hurt (perhaps because my hand was broken?). The real question is whether I can knit with the splint (if not, boy, will I be cranky! Although I'm pretty sure I'll be able to spin.)

And it turns out that I might have still wanted to run with a broken ankle--the first thing I asked the doctor about the split was whether I could still work out!

No knitting?! Man, I hope you can spin. Poor Kevin, if not. :)

You are well and truly a crazy woman. Do not push it with knitting while your hand is broken. You have your whole life to knit if you don't push it now. Sending Healing Thoughts your way...

Oh what a complete bummer! Hope it's not too painful. I'm with Elizabeth, don't push too hard while you're healing. More positive thoughts coming your way for a quick recovery.

Well, you could amuse yourself with feeble jokes about 'cast on' and 'cast off'. I will be anxious for you until I hear that you have a suitable fiber activity organized.

Does shopping at WEBS count? Editing patterns??

Oh my! Now I know why I don't run! But then I don't knit either. We hope you aren't in too much pain and you're on the mend real soon.

NOOOO!!!!

That's awful, Rebecca.

But seriously, the real question is:

Did you get good drugs?

Oh be careful! You don't want to make it any worse.

Yet another argument for not taking up running. Heal quickly.

Oh... I hope it doesn't hurt too much and that you'll be able to let the broken bone heal without too much stress put on it. Even though it might be hard to keep off the needles...

Sending healing thoughts over the Atlantic!

I am so sorry! How awful! This is, like, tragic on a Greek scale.
